Melbourne Writers Festival (MWF) is one of Australia's most loved literary institutions, bringing writers and readers together for intelligent, rousing, and diverse events that celebrate books and ideas. Held annually in Melbourne, the festival is part of the city’s UNESCO City of Literature designation and has been engaging audiences since 1986. The main festival runs from 7–10 May 2026, with MWF Schools taking place from 4-8 May 2026.
